Judge grants Capitol rioter permission to travel to Mexico for a retreat.

Court gave Capitol rioter permission to travel to Mexico for a "bonding retreat"

A federal judge ruled on Friday that Jenny Cudd, a Texas florist who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 can travel to Mexico later this month for a four day “bonding retreat”.

On Monday, attorneys for Cudd filed a motion asking the court for permission to travel to Maya Riviera, Mexico for a prepaid “work-related bonding retreat” from February 18 to 21. Her lawyers argued that she has no criminal history and has remained in contact with her attorney and pretrial service officer.

On Friday, Trump appointed Judge Trevor N. McFadden of the DC District Court granted her request.

“The Court also notes the Defendant has no criminal history and there is no evidence before the Court suggesting the Defendant is a flight risk or poses a danger to others,” McFadden wrote in his order.

After the riot, Cudd posted lengthy videos on social media implicating herself.

“We did break down Nancy Pelosi’s office door and somebody stole her gavel, and took a picture sitting in the chair flipping off the camera, and that was on Fox News,” Cudd said

She was initially charged with two misdemeanors — knowingly entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds — and was released shortly after her arrest in January.

On Thursday a grand jury indicted Cudd on five new criminal charges. The charges include corruptly obstructing an official proceeding of Congress; entering and remaining in a restricted building; committing disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building; committing disorderly conduct in a Capitol building; and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.

She has been unrepentant about her role in the Capitol riots, according to the Justice Department.

“Fuck yes, I am proud of my actions, I fucking charged the Capitol today with patriots today. Hell, yes, I am proud of my actions,” Cudd said in the Facebook video, according to court records.

Two days after the riot she gave a television interview in which she stated “we the Patriots did storm the U.S. Capitol” and “yes, I would absolutely do it again,” court documents say.
