Lindsey Graham says there will be “riots in the streets” if Trump is prosecuted

South Carolina county GOP censures Lindsey Graham for supporting infrastructure bill.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Sunday there will be riots if former President Donald Trump is prosecuted over his handling of classified materials.

“If there is a prosecution of Donald Trump for mishandling classified information after the Clinton debacle … there will be riots in the street,” Graham told Fox News “Sunday Night in America” host Trey Gowdy.

Graham said he thinks there’s a “double standard” when it comes to federal law enforcement when Trump is involved. Graham cited recent comments by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg about how his company handled the Hunter Biden laptop story after they received a warning from the FBI.

“Most Republicans, including me, believes when it comes to Trump, there is no law. It’s all about getting him,” Graham said. “There is a double standard when it comes to Trump. What happened with Hunter Biden is that the FBI weighed in to make sure the story didn’t break before the 2020 election.”

Clinton was investigated multiple times, including by the State Department and the FBI for her use of a private email server while servicing as secretary of state. She co-operated with every investigation and no charges were filed against her.

Trump, on the other hand, refused to cooperate and turn over classified documents when he was issued subpoenas and his attorneys lied about turning over all classified documents at Mar-a-Lago to the relevant authorities.
