Marjorie Taylor Greene accuses Mike Johnson of hypocrisy.

Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) accused Mike Johnson (R-La.) of being a hypocrite following comments the House Speaker made this week dismissing a restraining order against MAGA Rep. Cory Mills by his ex-girlfriend.

On Tuesday, a Florida judge granted a protective order against Mills at the request of a former girlfriend who claimed that he threatened to release nude images of her and physically harm her future boyfriends after she broke up with him.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Johnson defended Mills, calling him “a faithful  colleague,” adding that he would prefer to “talk about things that are really serious.”

Greene accused Johnson of being a ‘hypocrite’ with his dismissive answer, noting that he oversaw former Rep. George Santos’ expulsion from Congress following a scathing ethics report while appearing to give Mills a pass.

“They expelled George Santos, Mike Johnson did. He was Speaker and oversaw George Santos being expelled. Why isn’t he doing anything about Cory Mills?” Greene told Axios. “There’s clearly proof behind her accusations that a judge is issuing a restraining order. So I would say to Speaker Johnson, this is a serious matter, and it needs to be taken seriously.”

Greene has grown increasingly critical of her party in recent weeks. She has sided with Democrats in the shutdown fight and has criticized her party for failing to extend the expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies.
