Mark Meadows subpoenaed by Special Counsel Jack Smith.

Mark Meadows will no longer cooperate with Jan. 6 committee.

Former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has been subpoenaed by Jack Smith, the special counsel that is investigating former President Donald Trump and his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection, according to CNN.

Smith is reportedly seeking documents and testimony related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Meadows subpoena comes after Smith issued a subpoena to former Vice-President Mike Pence also seeking documents and testimony relating to the Jan. 6 riot.

Pence plans to fight the subpoena on the grounds that he was president of the Senate at the time which makes him a member of the legislative branch and he would therefore be shielded from the subpoena under the “speech and debate” clause of the Constitution.
