Mark Meadows tests positive for coronavirus.

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has tested positive for coronavirus, Bloomberg reports.

It wasn’t immediately clear when Meadows learned that he had contracted the virus or whether he had developed symptoms of Covid-19.

Meadows traveled with Donald Trump on Sunday and Monday. He was at the Trump campaign headquarters on Tuesday and Wednesday and he did not wear a mask on both trips. Meadows was also at the White House election party on Tuesday night.

Nick Trainer, a Trump campaign aide also tested positive for the virus, two sources told Bloomberg News.

Last month, Meadows told CNN that the Trump administration is not trying to control the pandemic and will shift their focus to developing vaccines and therapeutics.

His diagnosis coincides with the country setting records for new daily coronavirus infections. On Thursday the US records more than 121,000 new cases , bringing the total number of cases in the country to 9.7 million and more than 235,000 deaths.
