Mediaite releases recording of Stone discussing assassinating Democrats after he denies doing so and demanded proof that he did.

Roger Stone is denying that he ever discussed assassinating Democratic lawmakers before the 2020 presidential election and demanded that Mediaite, the outlet that broke the story, provide proof that he did– so they released the recording.

Earlier this week, Mediaite reported on the recording of a conversation between Stone and his associate, then-NYPD officer Sal Greco, discussing assassinating Democratic Reps. Jerry Nadler (N.Y) and Eric Swalwell (Calif.) before the 2020 election.

“It’s time to do it,” Stone told Greco. “Let’s go find Swalwell. It’s time to do it. Then we’ll see how brave the rest of them are. It’s time to do it. It’s either Swalwell or Nadler has to die before the election. They need to get the message. Let’s go find Swalwell and get this over with. I’m just not putting up with this shit anymore.”

Stone previously dismissed reporting of the audio, saying it is “total nonsense” and “AI manipulation.”

Stone doubled down in a series of posts on Thursday, denying that he ever threatened Democrats and demanded that Mediaite post the audio of him doing so.

“I never spoke about assassinating anyone,” Stone wrote in a post on X/Twitter. “Fake Mediaite can’t produce the recording they claim to have.”

In another post, Stone wrote that Mediaite “has produced NO audio of me threatening 2 Dem Congressmen. Where is it? Post it!”

So, Mediaite posted the audio of Stone doing exactly what he said he did not do.

The outlet noted that the audio clip had been lightly edited to protect the identity of their source, who fear repercussions from Stone, “whom they believe to be dangerous”.
