Meghan McCain rips Donald Trump for mocking her late father, Sen. John McCain, war injuries: 'Piece of sh*t'

Meghan McCain tore into former President Donald Trump after he mocked her late father, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), injuries he sustained as a prisoner of war.

“My dad was an American hero. An icon. A patriot that will be remembered throughout history. I cannot buy a bagel without someone approaching me about how much they loved and miss him,” McCain wrote in a post on X/Twitter Saturday. “Trump is a piece of shit, election denying, huckster whose own wife won’t campaign with him.”

Trump attacked late Sen. McCain during a speech in Newton, IA Saturday for thwarting his effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act in 2017 with a thumbs-down vote.

“Obamacare is a catastrophe, nobody talks about it,” Trump said. “Without John McCain, we would’ve had it done.”

“John McCain for some reason couldn’t get his arm up that day, remember?” Trump said mimicking McCain’s thumbs-down. “He goes … like that. That was the end of that.”

McCain was captured after his Skyhawk dive bomber was shot down in Vietnam in 1967. He spent five years in a Vietnamese prison camp where he was tortured. The crash and torture left him with permanent injuries, including being unable to raise his arms above his shoulders.
