MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is pulling his ads from Fox News after the network said it wouldn’t run one of his commercials for a symposium that will promote election-fraud claims.
Lindell was one of Fox’s biggest advertisers, spending $50 million last year and $19 million in the first seven months of this year.
The Wall Street Journal, first reported on the ad dispute.
Lindell told WSJ that the ad wouldn’t mention Trump’s claims of vote fraud, but he also reportedly said the symposium running from August 10-12 would back up Trump’s claims that the election was stolen from him.
“It’s unfortunate Mr. Lindell has chosen to pause his commercial time on FOX News given the level of success he’s experienced in building his brand through advertising on the number one cable news network,” a Fox spokesperson said.
Since the election Lindell has alleged that voting machine companies conspire with Democrats to steal the election from Donald Trump.
Voting machines company, Dominion Voting Systems sued Lindell for defamation to the tune of $1.6 billion in February.
The next month, the company filed a separate $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News for claims made about the company during its coverage of the 2020 presidential election.
Several retail giants also stopped selling Lindell’s products in their stores after he began spreading lies about the election, which resulted in him losing millions.
“We lost 40% of our business in January and February,” Lindell told CNBC. “I can’t get that back. I can only try.”
