Military won't throw a traditional farewell ceremony for Donald Trump.

The Pentagon has confirmed that members of the armed forces will break recent tradition this year and will not hold a farewell ceremony for disgraced president, Donald Trump.

The news of the Pentagon’s decision to break with tradition was first reported in a scathing commentary by Kevin Baron in Defense One, an outlet which focuses on national security issues.

For the past 40 years, every president leaving office was given a farewell tribute.

Not giving Trump the honor of a military sendoff is “a shame, but not a surprise,” and “perhaps for the best,” Baron writes.

“Trump has used the military as a political prop since his first days in office, from signing MAGA hats for troops to giving partisan-fueled speeches in the heart of the Pentagon. American’s soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines have been made to stand at attention for Trump’s rants long enough.”

It is not clear who made the decision to cancel this year’s farewell ceremony for Donald Trump or why.

Trump has been fantasizing about throwing himself a military-style sendoff for weeks complete with a 21-gun salute and crowds of supporters, according to CNN.
