Mysterious explosion that rocked some New Hampshire was actually a gender reveal party.

A mysterious explosion that rocked several New Hampshire towns on Tuesday was actually caused by a gender reveal party.

Police say a family used an enormous stockpile of Tannerite and blue chalk at Torromeo Industries around 7 p.m to reveal the gender of their baby.

The blast shook houses 20 miles away.

Residents that live close to the quarry told NBC Boston that it was unlike anything they’ve ever heard.

“We heard this god-awful blast,” Sara Taglieri said. “It knocked pictures off our walls.” Her husband Matt said the explosion cracked the foundation of some of their neighbors’ homes.

Authorities are still investigating but so far, they believe the people involved had permission to be on the Torromeo Industries property. Chief Donald Briggs said investigators are looking into possible property damage and that there could be charges in this case, NBC reports.

No injuries were reported in the quarry and the individual who detonated the explosive has turned himself in to authorities. And oh, it was a boy.
