A Newsmax host tired to drag President Joe Biden on Thursday for allegedly not being aware that “Africa was a country.”
In an interview with House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), host Rob Finnerty referenced former Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report where he overstepping the bounds of his investigation by offering his opinion on Biden’s memory.
“Robert Hur in his report said that he didn’t recommend charges for Biden because a jury wouldn’t rule against Joe Biden because he’s a quote ‘well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,’” Finnerty said.
“And he gave us examples. He said that Biden didn’t know that Africa was a country,” Finnerty continued. “He couldn’t remember the year that his son died. He didn’t know the last names of staff members. He forgot when he was vice president. All very embarrassing stuff.”
Africa is a continent, not a country. Furthermore, Hur’s report did not mention Africa.
Comer had requested that the Department of Justice turn over audio tapes of Hur’s interviews with Biden to Congress. But, the DOJ declined noting that congressional committees already have all of the transcripts of the interviews they requested.
Asked how he plans to get the tapes, Comer told Finnerty, “we’re gonna continue to go through the legal process.”
