Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) is escalating his feud with Donald Trump on the campaign trail

At a campaign stop in Columbus, Georgia, on Tuesday, alongside Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Ossoff referred to Trump as a “draft-dodging crook president” who dragged the country into a war without a plan.

“I don’t think anything illustrates the times more aptly than that the draft-dodging, crook president, who has plunged our nation recklessly into a war he knows not how to end or to win, tried to imprison this man, who embodies American heroism,” Ossoff said, referring to the Trump administration’s attempts to prosecute Kelly and five other Democrats over their involvement in a video calling on military members to reject illegal orders.

Ossoff’s latest anti-Trump broadside comes after he slammed Trump over the weekend for regularly sleeping through meetingstrading stocks, building his ballroom, and traveling with his aide Natalie Harp.

“While the sailors on the [USS Abraham] Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings,” the senator said. “He golfs and trades stocks. See, he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the amir of Qatar.”

Ossoff’s stinging attacks on Trump appeared to have hit home, as several White House officials issued statements on Monday offering the same juvenile insults, nicknames, and petty personal attacks unique to members of the Trump administration.
