House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) announced Friday that he is opening an investigation into former President Joe Biden.
In a statement, Comer announced that his committee will launch an investigation into what they call the cover-up of President Biden’s “mental decline” and his alleged use of autopen.
“The American people deserve to know who was actually calling the shots in the Biden White House, because it wasn’t Joe Biden. His mental decline was obvious to anyone paying attention,” Comer said in a statement.
“Key decisions made in the final days of the Biden presidency, including using autopens to issue blanket pardons for the Biden Crime Family, must be fully examined,” Comer added. “There are serious concerns that President Biden lacked the mental capacity to authorize those actions. The American people are done being lied to.”
Comer doubled down in a Fox News appearance on Friday suggesting in an interview on Sean Hannity’s show that his committee has evidence to show that autopen was used to sign executive orders and pardons during the Biden presidency.
“What we found is, not just with the pardons he issued but many of the executive orders that the courts are now using to Trump-proof many of the executive orders that President Trump is trying to implement to make the government more efficient, many of these executive orders, as well as the pardons of Biden’s entire family as the result of our investigation, these were all signed with the autopen,” Comer said.
Last year, Comer similarly claimed to have evidence to prove that Biden benefited from his son Hunter overseas business dealings. The Republican controlled House of Representatives launched an impeachment investigation but the Comer led effort failed to provide any evidence of alleged wrongdoing by Biden and Republicans abandoned the effort to impeach President Biden.
