Jacob Chansley aka Jake Angeli aka the QAnon Shaman is reportedly hungry in jail because there’s no organic food available on the menu for him to eat, according to ABC 15 News.
Chansley–the man who wore a horned headdress during the riots at the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday– reportedly hasn’t eaten since he turned himself in on Saturday.
His court appointed lawyer said he is not sure whether Chansley’s dietary restrictions were due to religious or dietary reasons. But, his mother, Martha Chansley who was present at Monday’s court hearing explained that, “he gets very sick if he doesn’t eat organic food – literally will get physically sick.”

The judge ordered Chansley’s public defender to work with the U.S. Marshal’s Office to get him the food he needs. Later on Monday the U.S. Marshal for the District of Arizona confirmed to ABC15, that they have followed the judge’s orders and will provide him with organic meals.
Chansley 33, has been charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

During Monday’s court hearing he did not make any statements about the charges against him but told the judge that he may be able to contact a friend who could provide a private attorney for him, ABC15 reports.
Before he turned himself in, he told the news outlet that he’s “not really all that worried about it because, in all honesty…I didn’t break any laws. I walked through open doors.”
Long before he was a member of the pro-Trump mob that stormed and ransacked the Capitol last Wednesday as lawmakers voted to certify Joe Biden’s victory, he was a member of the US Navy. He enlisted in September 2005 and left the service in October 2007 as a supply clerk seaman apprentice, the Navy Times reports.

His mother defended his actions on Monday, telling ABC15, “It takes a lot of courage to be a patriot, OK, and to stand up for what it is that you believe. Not everybody wants be the person up front.”
