Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican nominee for Georgia’s 14th congressional district and a supporter of QAnon is running unopposed this November. Greene’s opponent, Democrat Kevin Van Ausdal, announced on Friday that he will be leaving the race.
“I am heartbroken to announce that for family and personal reasons, I cannot continue this race for Congress,” Van Ausdal said in a statement. He also said that he would be leaving the state.
With Van Ausdal now out of the race, the state’s Democratic Party is asking Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican to officially disqualify him from the ballot and allow them to name a new nominee in an expedited process, according to Politico.
As of Friday Raffensperger’s office haven’t received a formal withdrawal request from Van Ausdal. According to Georgia law, a vacancy created by a candidate’s withdrawal from the race less than 60 days before the election “shall not be filled.” The general elections were 53 days away on Friday.
This means that the 117th United States Congress will more than likely have atleast one sitting member who is a sceptic of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and also believes that a satanic cult made up of pedophiles that sacrifices humans and engage in the blood-letting of children is running the world and Donald Trump is some type of hero who is suppose to save us from them.
God help us.
