Rep. Tom Rice (R-SC) was one of ten House Republicans to break with the party and voted to impeach Donald Trump in the House on Wednesday.
The vote by the conservative Republican from a red district in a red state was a surprise to many given that he was not an outspoken critic of Donald Trump.
Now, he believes that his ‘Yes’ vote on Trump’s impeachment over his role in inciting the riot that led to the storming of the US Capitol will probably cost him his seat in the House.

Rep. Rice told AP reporter Meg Kinnard that he “knows he’ll be primaried for his vote for impeachment” and it may cost him the seat he held in the House since 2012.
The congressman is content with his decision since he believes he was doing what’s best for his constituents.
“If it does, it does,” Rice said about losing his seat in the primary. “You tell my constituents I love ’em and it’s the honor of my life to do this job … I’ve tried to do my best to do the right thing and represent their interests, but if they decide that it’s time for me to come home, that’s OK, too,” he added.
