Ex-firefighter arrested for hurling fire extinguisher at officers during Capitol riots.

Police arrested a former firefighter who was seen on video throwing a fire extinguisher that hit three officers during the pro-Trump riots at the nation’s Capitol last Wednesday.

Robert Sanford, a 55-year-old from Chester, Pennsylvania was arrested on Thursday morning and faces three felony charges, including assaulting a police officer.

According to the criminal complaint, Sanford was seen on video throwing the fire extinguisher which hit at least one officer who was wearing a helmet before it ricochet, hitting two more officers one of whom was not wearing a helmet.

Sanford admitted to a friend that he was the person seen in the photographs and his friend tipped off the Feds.

This is a separate incident from the one that killed Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick who died after he was reportedly hit in the head with a fire extinguisher while physically engaging with protesters last Wednesday.
