Republicans slam Mike Johnson’s ‘horrible’ sermon at GOP retreat.

Fox News host asks Johnson if Republicans are 'weaponizing the House' against Democrats.

Republicans are furious at House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) after a GOP retreat this weekend turned into an all out sermon.

Johnson was scheduled to give a presentation at the retreat in Miami, Florida, outlining Republicans plan to expand their two seat majority in the House, instead he ended up delivering a sermon about declining morality and church membership in the United States, two people who were in the room told Politico. Johnson also quoted Bible verses and complained about shrinking religious identity.

“I’m not at church,” one of the individuals said, describing Johnson’s presentation as “horrible.”

“I think what he was trying to do, but failed on the execution of it, was try to bring us together,” the person added. “The sermon was so long he couldn’t bring it back to make the point.”

Johnson is a devout Christian who has said the Bible is his “worldview” and compared himself to Moses.

He has also said Joe Biden’s presidency is “God’s will” earning pushback from far-right members of the party who still believes the election was stolen from Donald Trump.
