Roger Stone tried to come back to Twitter after he was banned in 2017 for threatening CNN anchors, and was immediately hit with a ban, again, The Daily Beast reports.
Stone, thinking it was safe to return to Twitter after ‘free speech absolutist’ Elon Musk purchased the platform wrote on Telegram Thursday: “Well bitches I’m back on Twitter. I’m anxious to see how strong Elon Musk’s commitment to free speech is.”
However, hours after making his new account, he was banned again.
A Twitter spokesperson told the Daily Beast that Stone’s account violates the platform ‘ban evasion policy.’
“If an account has been permanently suspended for severe violations of the Twitter Rules, Twitter reserves the right to also permanently suspend any other account we believe the same account holder or entity may be operating in violation of our earlier suspension, regardless of when the other account was created,” the policy states.
Stone later told the outlet that he created the new account to “prove a point” and said he looks forward to Musk firing the person who made the decision to ban his account.
Stone head back to Telegram, writing: “My new Twitter account was suspended after just six hours. So much for free speech. Just makes me like Telegram all the more.”
