Second presidential debate will be virtual.

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced on Thursday that the second presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, slated to take place on October 15, will be virtual.

“The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which the candidates would participate from separate remote locations,” the commission said in a statement according to CNN.

“The town meeting participants and the moderator, Steve Scully, Senior Executive Producer & Political Editor, C-SPAN Networks, will be located at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County in Miami, Florida. The White House Pool will provide coverage of the second presidential debate.”

The announcement came less than a week after Donald Trump announced that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. Joe Biden had said he will not debate Donald Trump if he is still positive for the virus and the Republican mayor of Miami said Trump should not come to his city if he is still testing positive for the coronavirus.

“I don’t think it’s safe, not for him and anybody else, anywhere or anyone he interacts with,” the city’s mayor told Politico.
