Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx) confuses Washington State with Western Australian while attacking blue state “power-drunk” Democrats and their “authoritarian” rule.
Cruz retweeted a post of a screenshot from the Facebook page of the government of Western Australia (WA Government) seemingly tongue in cheek comment advising a woman that dancing was not permitted at a private New Year’s Eve party at her home.
“Blue-state Dems are power-drunk authoritarian kill-joys. Washington State: NO DANCING ALLOWED!!! Any rational & free citizen: Piss off,” Cruz wrote.
However, Cruz quickly deleted the tweet when social media users pointed out that the ”WA government’ mentioned in the screenshot is Western Australia, a state that is part of Australia and not Washington.
