Tennessee pastor disarms gunman during church service: Report.

A Tennessee pastor stopped what could have been a tragedy during church services over the weekend when he disarmed a man who pulled out a gun and started waving it the congregation.

According to Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, pastor Ezekiel Ndikumana was leading the Nashville Light Mission Pentecostal Church in prayer at the altar when Dezire Baganda, 26, who previously attended church services, pulled a gun.

Surveillance video shows Baganda waving the gun at the congregation. Within seconds Ndikumana tackled him to the ground and other members of the congregation helped to disarm him.

“I would say that God used me because I felt like I was going to use the back door as an example as going on by trying to go behind him. And then I felt the feeling that I would go and grab him… and that’s what happened,” Ndikumana told local news station WKRN. “God wanted to show that he’s a powerful God. One main thing I said, we had faith,” he added.

Baganda faces 15 counts of felony aggravated assault, and multiple counts are expected to be added, police said.
