AOC unloads on Rep. Paul Gosar for sharing violent anime video: 'This dude is just a collection of wet toothpicks'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D N. Y) issued a scathing response to a violent tweet shared by Republican congressman Rep. Paul Gosar (Ariz.) on Monday.

Gosar on Sunday evening shared a photoshopped video in which he and other Republican lawmakers, including Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) and Lauren Boebert (Colo.), are depicted as heroes from the Japanese anime series “Attack on Titan.” The clip also included footage of migrants and border patrol agents with animated scenes in which the words “drugs,” “crime,” “poverty,” “money,” “murder,” “gangs,” “violence” and “trafficking” appear on the screen.

Ocasio-Cortez’s face is superimposed on one of the Titans, who is killed by Gosar’s character. His character also attacks a Titan with Biden’s face.

The clip was flagged as “hateful conduct” by Twitter.

“While I was en route to Glasgow, a creepy member I work with who fundraises for Neo-Nazi groups shared a fantasy video of him killing me,”  Ocasio-Cortez said. “And he’ll face no consequences [because] @GOPLeader cheers him on with excuses.”

Meanwhile, Gosar’s office is defending the anime video of himself killing Ocasio-Cortez.

“We made an anime video,” his digital director, Jessica Lycos, said in a statement to The Washington Post . “Everyone needs to relax. The left doesn’t get meme culture. They have no joy. They are not the future. It’s a cartoon. Gosar can’t fly and he does not own any light sabers. Nor was violence glorified. This is about fighting for truth.”
