CNN contributor Scott Jennings reportedly sent clips of himself defending Natalie Harp in media appearances to the White House as audition tapes to replace the pathologically mendacious Karoline Leavitt as press secretary.

Harp landed in the spotlight after Georgia Democratic Senate candidate Jon Ossoff slammed Donald Trump at a campaign rally last weekend for focusing on his renovation projects, regularly sleeping through meetingstrading stocks, building his ballroom, and ‘traveling with his aide Natalie Harp’.

Several supporters of the man who bragged about ‘grabbing women by the p—-‘, called women”fat,” “ugly,” and used other derogatory terms when referring to women, claimed Ossoff’s comment about Harp went too far and labeled the remark as sexist because it suggested a sexual relationship between Trump and his aide.

According to Politico, Jennings sent the clips of his media appearances defending Harp to the White House and met with Chief of Staff Susie Wiles over the weekend.

Sources told CNN that Jennings is the early frontrunner to replace Leavitt because multiple White House staffers believe Wiles is backing him.

“He’s competent and good on TV,” one senior White House official said of why Wiles had shown interest in Jennings.

Though he is the favorite, sources stressed that the process is far from complete and Wiles will meet with other candidates before making a decision.

Jennings did not give a definitive answer when asked by “CNN NewsNight” anchor Abby Phillip on Wednesday if he is interviewing for the job.

“I don’t have any comment about that,” he said. “I think every president deserves a good, solid defense and someone who can go out there and explain what they’re doing, because the government’s doing so much.”

“The American people deserve somebody to go out there and tell them what’s going on with their president and with the government as much as they can,” he continued. “That job is the conduit to transparency in front of the camera and also behind the scenes, and that’s an important part.”

Leavitt, 28, the youngest person to ever serve as press secretary, is resigning at the end of the month “so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!” Trump announced on Truth Social earlier this month.
