Donald Trump referred to Alexander Vindman as a “treasonous creep” as he celebrated his loss in the Florida Democratic Senate primary on Tuesday and called for him to be prosecuted.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump called Vindman’s defeat the “most gratifying” of the night, adding that Vindman should be prosecuted for testifying against him in the first impeachment trial.

“The most gratifying loss last night was that of a real treasonous creep, Alexander Vindman, to a Radical Left Lunatic, who can’t speak or think properly,” Trump wrote.

“Vindman, if you remember, was the one who lied about my “Perfect Call” with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, only to find out that the conversation was routinely recorded and proved that I was 100% in the right (Completely Innocent!),” he continued. “It was, indeed, a Perfect Call, and the Dumocrats Fake Impeachment effort massively failed. Vindman should be prosecuted for what he did!”

In another post, Trump wrote: “SleazeBag Vindman loses tonight to a Radical Left Lunatic. How cool is that???”

Vindman, a Kyiv-born Jewish refugee from the former Soviet Union, a retired Army lieutenant colonel and former director of European affairs for the National Security Council, testified before Congress in 2019 during Trump’s first impeachment trial about a controversial phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Senate later acquitted Trump on both articles of impeachment.

Vindman lost his Senate bid to Florida state Rep. Angie Nixon (D), a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, despite having a significant fundraising disadvantage. As of July 29, Nixon’s campaign had less than $265,000 on hand, while Vindman’s had more than $7.2 million, according to the Federal Election Commission.

Nixon will face Sen. Ashley Moody (R)  in the November midterm elections. Election handicapper Sabato’s Crystal Ball shifted the race from “likely Republican” to “safely Republican” after Nixon’s win.
