The Bidens honor frontline workers in New Year's Eve address.

President-elect Joe Biden closed out 2020 by honoring some of the year’s true heroes–frontline workers.

Asked on ABC’s “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” broadcast what he would like to say to frontline healthcare workers currently battling the coronavirus pandemic around the country, Biden said, “My mother used to have an expression. Bravery resides in every heart and someday it’ll be summoned. [In] the people we’re honoring tonight, it was summoned and they stepped up and they’re brave, they did so much. They risked their lives, they’ve done so much for us and we owe them, we owe them, we owe them.”

“We’re so grateful for everything they did. You know, they left their families and their homes so that we could be safe and I — all Americans truly appreciate what they did for us,” Dr. Jill Biden added.
