Truckers heading to D.C. say they want justice for Jan. 6 rioter Ashli Babbitt.

A group of truckers heading to Washington D.C. on Wednesday say they plan to demand justice for Ashli Babbitt, who was killed during the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Bob Bolus, the owner of a trucking business in Pennsylvania and the organizer of the protest told PennLive.com that the convoy would focus on complaints against COVID-19 restrictions like the Canadian demonstration but they will also use the opportunity to air other grievances against undocumented immigrants, foreign oil imports, critical race theory and the Black Lives Matter movement.

“We are going to let our voices be heard,” Bolus said.

“You are not taking any more of our rights away,” he continued. “You are giving rights to illegals. It’s ok for them to do but not us as American citizens. We want the pipeline put back into service. We want fuel back in our country. We want to go back to where we were before instead of giving the rights to foreign countries to put the screws to us because they are feathering their own nests.”

Bolus also said the convoy would be seeking “justice for Ashli.” Babbitt was fatally shot inside the Capitol on January 6, 2021, as she attempted to climb through a window to gain access to the Speaker’s Lobby.

It is not clear how many truckers will attend Wednesday’s protest. But truckers from Pennsylvania will be joined by the ‘People’s Convoy’ which includes truckers from California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Maryland, according to Newsweek.
