Donald Trump, 78, took a swipe at Vice President Kamala Harris’ mental abilities.
In a post on his Truth Social app Monday Trump demanded that Harris, 59, pass a test on cognitive stamina and agility after she released her medical report on Saturday and called on the 78-year-old Republican presidential nominee to do the same.
“I believe it is very important that Kamala Harris pass a test on Cognitive Stamina and Agility,” Trump wrote. “Her actions have led many to believe that there could be something very wrong with her. Even 60 Minutes and CBS, in order to protect Lyin’ Kamala, illegally and unscrupulously replaced an answer she had given, which was totally “bonkers,” with another answer that had nothing to do with the question asked.”
He continued: “Also, she is slow and lethargic in answering even the easiest of questions. We just went through almost four years of that, we shouldn’t have to do it again!”
Harris has been spotlighting Trump’s age and mental fitness in recent days. If elected, Trump would be the oldest president ever inaugurated.
However, his campaign has refused to release Trump’s medical records and appears to be doubling down even after Harris released hers.
In the two-page letter released on Saturday, the vice president’s physician Joshua Simmons writes that Harris is in “excellent health.”
“She possesses the physical and mental resilience required to successfully execute the duties of the presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief,” Simmons added.
In response Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung released a statement insisting that the septuagenarian ex-president, whose indecipherable rants at his rallies include stories about the “late great Hannibal Lecter,” is “in perfect and excellent health to be Commander in Chief”.
“He has maintained an extremely busy and active campaign schedule unlike any other in political history, whereas Kamala Harris has been unable to keep up with the demands of campaigning and reveals on a daily basis she is wholly unqualified to be President of the United States,” he added.
Asked for results of Trump’s recent medical examinations, the campaign directed media outlets to a year old letter from his doctor, according to Axios.
The campaign also pointed to reports from former Trump physician turn MAGA sycophant Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), declaring that the former president is doing “extremely well” following Trump’s recovery from a bullet wound to his ear this summer.
