Donald Trump reportedly got physical with his attorney in court Tuesday during the testimony of adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Daniels testified about her brief sexual encounter with Trump that led to the hush money payment at the center of the former president’s ongoing criminal trial in New York.
According to CNN, Trump got “physical” with his attorney Susan Necheles as Daniels testified by repeatedly hitting her on the arm to object.
“He’s been really scrutinizing his defense lawyers,” CNN legal analyst Paula Reid reported. “I saw it yesterday with Todd Blanche’s cross of an accounting official from the Trump Organization. Trump twisted his entire body and was watching everything Todd said. Today. He’s gotten a little physical with Susan Necheles, one of his lawyers sort of hitting her on the arm, prompting her to object.”
Reid said that Trump clearly has ideas about exactly how this defense should be carried out and has had “spirited conversations” with his attorneys about his trial strategy.
“It’s unclear who will cross Stormy Daniels, but you know, whoever does it, they’re getting an earful from their client right now,” Reid added.
Necheles’ came out swinging during her cross-examination of Daniels and things quickly got heated.
At one point, Necheles seemed to raise her voice to Daniels when asking why she had not paid money owed to Trump for legal fees in a unrelated case that has been dismissed, according to The Hill.
