Trump is now denying that he called for the Constitution to be terminated.

Trump revives health care debate with plan to eliminate Obamacare if he's re-elected.

Former President Donald Trump is now denying that he called for the termination of the Constitution, days after doing just that in a post on Truth Social.

“The Fake News is actually trying to convince the American People that I said I wanted to ‘terminate’ the Constitution. This is simply more DISINFORMATION & LIES, just like RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, and all of their other HOAXES & SCAMS,” Trump wrote in a post on Monday.

The denial comes two days after Trump called for the “termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” while falsely claiming that there was widespread fraud in the 2020 election.

The post still remains on his page as the former president issued the denial.

Trump trying to walk back his comment comes as some Republicans are condemning his remarks.

“I must tell you that I think that everyone that serves in public office, everyone that aspires to serve or serve again should make it clear that we will support and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Former Vice President Mike Pence said on Monday.

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) also pushed back, writing in a tweet: “Suggesting the termination of the Constitution is not only a betrayal of our Oath of Office, it’s an affront to our Republic.”
