Trump’s campaign manager shared social media posts blaming him for Jan. 6 attack.

Donald Trump’s current campaign manager, Chris LaCivita promoted social media posts blaming the former president for the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol and demanding his removal from office.

According to CNN, LaCivita shared a statement from former President George W. Bush in the hours after the attack slamming Trump’s lies that incited his supporters to storm the Capitol building.

“I am appalled by the reckless behavior of some political leaders since the election and by the lack of respect shown today for our institutions, our traditions, and our law enforcement,” read the statement by Bush that LaCivita shared. “The violent assault on the Capitol – and disruption of a Constitutionally-mandated meeting of Congress – was undertaken by people whose passions have been inflamed by falsehoods and false hopes.”

LaCivita also liked a post from former Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA) calling for the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump from office before he could do any further damage.

“Twitter locked @realDonaldTrump for 12 hours. Now the Cabinet needs to lock him down for the next 14 days. #25thAmendmentNow,” Comstock wrote on January 6.

LaCivita also shared comments calling January 6 an “insurrection” and the rioters who stormed the Capitol “thugs,” CNN reported.

The posts have since been deleted from LaCivita’s feed.

He told CNN in a statement: “Retweets and likes are not endorsements. I’m focused on winning the election two weeks from now, and not distractions from CNN.”
