More Americans disapprove of Donald Trump now than at any point in his two terms as president.
According to an ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll released Friday, 62 percent of Americans disapprove of the job Trump is doing as president, up 2 points from February. This is the highest Trump’s disapproval has ever been in either his first or second terms in this survey.
Meanwhile, just 37 percent of Americans approve of his job as president. That number is consistent with approval ratings recorded in recent polls.
Driving Trump’s unpopularity is voters’ concerns about the economy, inflation, cost of living, affordability, and the war in Iran.
The poll found that just 34 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the economy overall. 72 percent of voters disapproved of how Trump is handling inflation, while 27 percent approved of Trump’s handling of inflation.
A whopping 76 percent disapproved of how Trump is handling the cost of living in the U.S., while 23 percent approved.
More than half of respondents in the survey, 66 percent, said they disapproved of how Trump is handling the Iran war, and 33 percent approved.
The ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll was conducted among 2,560 U.S. adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
