Twitter fact checked a tweet from Donald Trump on election eve warning about violence in the streets as a result of the Supreme Court decision to allow ballots arriving in Pennsylvania up to three days after the election to be counted as long as they are postmarked by election day.
“The Supreme Court decision on voting in Pennsylvania is a VERY dangerous one. It will allow rampant and unchecked cheating and will undermine our entire systems of laws. It will also induce violence in the streets. Something must be done!,” Trump tweeted.
Trump has repeated this false claim about mail-in voting numerous times to create doubt about the results of the election. And Twitter fact checked his tweet:
“Some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process,” the disclaimer from Twitter read.
