Abbott is already blaming Biden for Texas COVID cases.

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott is already blaming the Biden administration’s immigration policies for COVID cases in Texas. This as he lifted all restrictions in the state that were put in place to mitigate the spread of the virus.

During the height of the coronavirus pandemic in the summer of last year, Abbott said if he “could go back and redo anything it would have been to slow down the reopening of bars”. There were 5,674 new COVID cases reported, that day.

On the day he lifted all COVID restrictions there were 7,300 new cases but he said it was the right time to “open Texas 100%”.

Facing swift backlash from health experts who questioned his decision to open the state and lift mask mandates, given that the number of new cases are higher than this past summer, Abbott tried to shift the blame to Joe Biden and his administration’s immigration policies.

Abbott claims that the Biden administration was “recklessly releasing hundreds of illegal immigrants who have COVID into Texas communities.” He called on Biden to “IMMEDIATELY end this callous act that exposes Texans & Americans to COVID.”
