Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) and Democrat Annie Andrews are deadlocked in the South Carolina Senate race.

According to a New York Times/Siena College Poll on Wednesday, both candidates have 48 percent support among likely voters in South Carolina. The state has not elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1998.

Sen. Graham was appointed to finish the term of her late brother, Sen. Lindsey Graham. She has faced intense questions regarding her competence and qualifications after admitting during an August 18, 2026, debate that national security was “not my thing.”

Graham has also struggled to raise money throughout the campaign, and, according to The Hill, she has received most of her financial support from outside Republicans. Federal Election Commission filings show Darline Graham raised just $1.2 million as of Oct. 14, compared with Andrews’s $23.8 million.

The nonpartisan election forecaster, Cook Political Report, rates the South Carolina Senate race as ‘lean Republican.’

The Times/Siena poll was conducted Oct. 19-26 among 707 voters in South Carolina. The margin of error is 4.3 percentage points.
