President Joe Biden has a narrow lead over Donald Trump, according to a new Fox News poll.
The poll shows 49 percent of registered voters backing Biden for president in 2024 while 48 percent support Trump.
Biden however trails Nikki Haley by 4 points and Florida governor Ron DeSantis by 2 points, the poll finds. Fox News noted that this is the first time Trump has fared worse against Biden than his rivals for the Republican nomination.
Despite his legal troubles, the poll shows Trump still has a commanding lead over his opponents in the GOP primary.
Trump receives 59 percent support among GOP primary voters. DeSantis remains in a distant second holding steady at 13 percent while Haley moves into third with 10 percent. No other candidate in the field polled in the double digits.
The Fox News poll was conducted Oct. 6-9 with a sample of 1,007 registered voters nationwide. It has a margin of error of ±3 percentage points for the full sample size and ±4.5 percentage points for Republican primary voters.
