Donald Trump bizarrely claimed on Friday that “young, beautiful girls” are visiting him at the White House to thank him for his handling of crime.

Trump made the disturbing comments while speaking to law enforcement officials on Long Island at an event to boost Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, who is challenging incumbent Kathy Hochul for governor of New York.

At the event, Trump argued that his use of the National Guard in Washington DC has made the city “one of the safest cities in the country,” with “very little crime,” a claim an analysis from the Washington Post raised doubts about.

Still, Trump claimed that random young women visit him at the White House to thank him for lowering crime in DC.

“Every day I come to the White House, people are thanking me: ‘Thank you, sir. Thank you, thank you, sir,’” he claimed.

“You know these young, beautiful girls. These young, beautiful girls. These young, beautiful girls in the White House. You know they come in. Now I’m not supposed to say beautiful, but what the hell?” Trump rambled in a clip highlighted by Mediaite. “These young, these gorgeous, beautiful girls, they’re young. They wanna be safe, and they come, ‘Mr. President, may I speak to you?'”

“Thank you, sir! Thank you!” Trump recalls these ‘beautiful, young girls’ saying. “I said, ‘Why are you thanking me?’ ‘Because a year and a half ago, I was afraid to leave — I was afraid to open the door of my apartment, and now I walk to the White House every morning, and I have absolutely no fear, thank you, sir!'”

Violent crime rates in the United States dropped significantly during the last two years of the Joe Biden administration, and the trend just continued under Trump. Yet speakers at the rally, including FBI Director Kash Patel, argued Trump deserves all the credit for the declining crime rates.
