Cyber Ninjas, the company hired by Republicans to conduct a review of ballots cast in the November presidential elections in Arizona is shutting down.
According to NBC News, the company is closing its doors after their report was torn to shreds and a judge impose a $50,000 fine against the company every day until it hands over documents related to their audit after the Arizona Republic newspaper filed a public records request.
“Cyber Ninjas is shutting down. All employees have been let go,” the company’s representative Rod Thomson told NBC News Thursday evening.
One day before the announcement, Maricopa election officials released a report saying that 76 of the 77 claims made in the Cyber Ninjas report were false or misleading.
“It’s been debunked and it was written by people who are not experts in the field,” Bill Gates, the chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors said. “We’re done. This is the end of the 2020 election. We have addressed the issues; we have debunked them.”
Cyber Ninjas and its less than a dozen employees were hired by Arizona Republicans to conduct an ‘audit’ of the ballots cast in Maricopa County in the presidential election despite having no experience with conducting audits.
Rather than finding that Trump defeated President Joe Biden in Maricopa county, Cyber Ninjas tallied 360 additional votes for Biden than previously counted, according to The New York Times.
