Fears grow in MAGA land of a Trump defeat, donors having buyer's remorse.

With three days to go before the election, many officials in Trump’s inner circle are slowly starting to accept the reality that Donald Trump may be a one-term president.

According to a Daily Beast report, many in MAGAland “have come to finally accept after a year of coronavirus deaths, economic devastation, and racial and civil unrest have throttled an administration run by a man they believe has failed to rise to the occasion”.

White House officials had hoped that the GDP report that came out on Thursday showing that the U.S. economy grew by 33.1% annual rate would boost Trump’s re-election prospects. But now, even one of his staunchest allies, conservative economist Stephen Moore conceded that “he doesn’t feel good about this.”

Other senior aides are also preparing themselves for Trump’s fury over the election results.

Republican donors like the chief executive at Canary, Dan Eberhart told The Daily Beast. “if I could redo my donations this cycle, I would put it all on red again. Honestly I would put all my donations towards holding the Senate. I never thought the Senate would be in play”.

Eberhart is not alone, 450 of the 1,100 top donors to Trump’s 2016 campaign did not make a single donation to his re-election this year.
