Olympian Klete Keller charged in connection with Capitol riots.

Former swimmer and Olympic gold medalist Klete Keller has been charged for his involvement in the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist was charged with obstructing law enforcement, knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and violent entry and disorderly conduct.

Keller was easily identified by members of the swimming community because he was wearing a US Olympic Team jacket with “USA” printed on the back and down the sleeves.

His Olympic jacket was also what led authorities to positively ID him.

“PERSON 1 can be seen standing in the Rotunda still wearing the dark-colored USA jacket, which also appears to bear a Nike logo on the front right side and a red and white Olympic patch on the front left side,” the criminal complaint filed against Keller reads.

Keller won two gold medals in the 2004 and 2008 Olympic games in the 4x200m relay after taking silver in the event in 2000.

He has since retired and was working as a real estate agent in Colorado Springs with the agency Hoff & Leigh. The company said he no longer works there.
