Former Republican House Speaker John Boehner, went off script while recording the audio version of his upcoming memoir and told Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to “go f**k yourself,” Axios reports.
His memoir, “On The House: A Washington Memoir,” is scheduled to be released in April. It chronicles his time as a Republican Party representative and House Speaker between 2011 to 2015.
According to Axios, Boehner has been frequently going off script while recording the audio version of his new memoir, sprinkling in expletives and asides not present in the book.
During one session he reportedly said “Oh, and Ted Cruz, go f–k yourself.”
David Schnittger, Boehner’s spokesperson confirmed “there were some off-script moments” adding, “he pretty much just let it fly, as he did when he was working on the book itself. He’s not really interested in being anything other than himself these days. That is kind of the spirit of the entire project.”
