Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) claims cisgender men are demonized in society if they do not identify as a woman.
Boebert made the bizarre claim during an appearance on conservative podcast Frontlines with Drew Hernandez on Thursday in response to the host saying it is women like her who are “paving the road for women to go even further and further into the future in America,” according to Newsweek.
“I’m standing up because I don’t want it to damage the future of women in our country, future generations—and not just women. Men, too,” Boebert said in a clip posted to Twitter by ‘PatriotTakes’. “Men have been demonized, and it’s only OK to be a man now if you identify as a woman whatever that is, right?”
“So, there’s so much that we have to stand for right now, or we are going to lose our country completely,” Boebert added.
Boebert has made similar controversial comments about gender as recent as October this year when she called women “lesser vessels” who “need” a man in their lives.
“We are created equal, we’re not the same. Women are the lesser vessel and we need masculinity in our lives to balance that, that so-called weakness, ” Boebert said. “Just us being more frail and needing that strength in our lives.”
