Lauren Boebert does not want to ‘nitpick what the Bible says is right and wrong’ after teen son gets girlfriend pregnant.

Boebert finishes 5th in straw poll at first GOP primary debate in new district.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) says she does not want to “nitpick what the Bible says is right and wrong” as her 17-year-old son and his girlfriend are expecting a child.

“Obviously, I’m a Christian and you know there are standards that we like to uphold, but none of us do it perfectly,” Boebert said on conservative podcast The Rubin Report on Thursday.

“One of the biggest things that I look to is, ‘Him who knows to do right and doesn’t, it’s sin.’ And I mean, there [are] things all throughout the week that I know is right to do and sometimes, you know, I don’t do them,” Boebert continued. “So we can nitpick what the Bible says is right and wrong, but I think just having that heart posture of wanting to serve God and do the right thing is so important.”

Boebert added that she plans to teach her son “about redemption and how to move forward.”

Boebert, 36, announced earlier this month that she will be a grandmother. The former teen mom, also used the occasion to praise high birth rates among teenagers in rural conservative communities.

“There’s something special about rural conservative communities — they value life. If you look at teen pregnancy rates throughout the nation, well, they’re the same in rural and urban areas,” Boebert said. “However, abortion rates are higher in urban areas, and teen mom rates are higher in rural, conservative areas because we understand the preciousness of the life that is about to be born.”

Boebert, a Christian, has been vocal about her religious beliefs and has used the Bible to attack Democratic politicians while hiding behind her faith.

“I do want you to know that I pray for our President. Psalm 109:8 says, ‘May his days be few and another take his office.’ Hallelujah! Glory to God,” Boebert said a church service in Colorado earlier this year.

However, the rest of that psalm Boebert referenced is a bit more ominous: May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow. May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes. May a creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.
