Musk staffer says there is a “99 percent” chance he is lying about DDOS attack delaying X spaces interview with Trump.

Elon Musk has named Linda Yaccarino as Twitter’s new CEO.

“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!” Musk wrote on Twitter Friday. “@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology. Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app.”

The announcement comes one day after musk announced he was stepping down as CEO to assume the the role of executive chair and chief technology officer.

Yaccarino, the former NBCUniversal advertising chief stepped down from her role at NBCUniversal on Friday.

“It has been an absolute honor to be part of Comcast NBCUniversal and lead the most incredible team,” Yaccarino said in a statement. “We’ve transformed our company and the entire industry—and I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”

Musk has presided over a chaotic six months at the company since his $44 billion takeover last October. He has cut the number of staff from 7,500 to about 1000. Advertisers have also fled the platform as disinformation and misinformation proliferate on the site. To bring in cash Musk rolled out a paid subscription service and removed legacy check marks which did not go over well.
