Donald Trump’s former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley tweeted a Memorial Day photo of herself and her son sitting in front of a beach, appearing to be enjoying the long weekend after she slammed Vice-President Harris over her well-wishes for the holiday weekend.
Haley called VP Harris “Unprofessional and unfit” because of her tweet, two days before Memorial Day, telling Americans to “enjoy the long weekend” instead of what Memorial Day is about.
VP Harris earlier on Sunday had sent out another tweet, before Haley chimed in, about what the national holiday is about.
“Throughout our history our service men and women have risked everything to defend our freedoms and our country,” Harris wrote “As we prepare to honor them on Memorial Day, we remember their service and their sacrifice.”
Haley had not tweeted about Memorial Day yet until Monday.
She sent two tweets, honoring United States military personnel who died in the line of duty and another enjoying the long weekend with her son at the beach.
“Thankful on this Memorial Day for the blessings of family and spending time with my little one,” Haley wrote.
Haley is widely thought to be a likely contender for the Republican Party nomination for president in 2024. She plans to support Trump if he decides to run again but she fell out of his favor after she criticized him for inciting the mob that stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6.
