Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis will sit down for an exclusive interview with CNN anchor Jake Tapper this week, the network announced on Sunday.
The interview will air Tuesday on “The Lead” at 4 p.m. ET. It will be the first time DeSantis will make an appearance on the network since he announced his presidential bid in May.
The announcement follows reports that DeSantis fired roughly a dozen staffers in a campaign shake-up as he struggles to gain traction in the growing primary field.
Polling shows DeSantis far ahead of most of the GOP primary field but trailing former President Donald Trump.
His campaign raised nearly $20 million in the second quarter, according to Federal a Elections Commission filing. It is the second-biggest fundraising haul among Republican candidates behind Trump.
