Haley Stevens endorses Republican Mike Rogers.

Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens (Mich.) has endorsed Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers after appearing at a church on Sunday, days after clashing with the campaign of Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

“Our Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, Abdul, said that I was no longer welcome in his campaign and that I should stay away, and he’s right,” Stevens said in a video posted on social media. “And that’s why I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today.”

Stevens, who narrowly lost to El-Sayed in Michigan’s Democratic primary in August, appeared alongside Rogers at a Detroit church on Sunday.

Stevens was at a service at Perfecting Church with Rogers two days before the crucial midterm elections.

Stevens was scheduled to campaign with El-Sayed on Sunday at a Detroit church, along with U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC). But Stevens demanded that El-Sayed condemn an ad by a group not affiliated with his campaign that blamed high grocery prices in the U.S. on Israel. El-Sayed responded by reiterating that the ad is from an independent group and accused Stevens of trying to relitigate the Democratic primary race.

Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) told CNN that she advised Stevens not to attend the service with Clyburn on Sunday.

El-Sayed attended a church service at Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ in Detroit.

While Stevens insists she supports the Democratic ticket, her fiancé, Jason Turkish, announced he will vote for Rogers in Tuesday’s match-up.
