Trump says he was notified that he’s a target in Jan. 6 investigation.

CEOs say Trump was 'meandering' and 'doesn’t know what he’s talking about’ during meeting.

Former President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he has been notified he is a target in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Jan. 6 investigation.

“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an arrest and indictment,” Trump wrote in a statement on Tuesday.

Trump called the letter “HORRIFYING NEWS for our Country,” and said that it means he will be indicted for a third time.

It’s not clear whether anyone else received a target letter.

Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Smith as special counsel to lead the Department of Justice’s investigation into Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents and attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Smith already secured an indictment on 37 counts relating to Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents and obstruction of Justice in the documents probe.
