Trump threatens to reveal unflattering information about DeSantis if he runs in 2024.

Trump lawyer warns DeSantis not to run for president in 2024: "He needs to stay in Florida"

Donald Trump suggested on Tuesday that he will reveal unflattering information about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) if he decides to challenge him for the Republican Party nomination for president in 2024.

“I don’t know if he is running. I think if he runs, he could hurt himself very badly. I really believe he could hurt himself badly,” Trump told reporters on his plane. “I think he would be making a mistake, I think the base would not like it — I don’t think it would be good for the party.”

“I don’t know if he runs. If he runs, he runs,” Trump continued. “I would tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering — I know more about him than anybody — other than, perhaps, his wife.”

The threat is similar to the one Trump made in 2016 against Ted Cruz in the Republican primary when he threatens to “spill the beans” about his wife Heidi.

The threat also comes after Trump attacked DeSantis at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, calling him “Ron DeSanctimonious”.

Neither Trump nor DeSantis have announced they are running for president, but both are expected to do so very soon.

At his rally in Dayton, Ohio on Monday, Trump said he plans to make a major announcement at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday, November 15.
