President-elect Joe Biden spoke with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli President Reuven Rivlin on Tuesday, Axios reports.
Biden’s call to the Israeli leaders came after he spoke to the leaders of America’s closest allies around the world. In contrast, Trump spoke to Netanyahu the day after he was elected.
Both Rivlin and Netanyahu issued statements vowing to work with Biden. Netanyahu also referred to Biden for the first time as “the President-elect”.
